In Australia there is a two-tiered system offering both Federal and State-based incentives.
The State film commission is the first point of contact for all information about shooting in Victoria. Film Victoria offers two incentive programs to attract projects to the State. Each of these incentives is a grant negotiated on a project-by-project basis and provided in the form of a cash rebate at the end of production. In addition to these incentives, Film Victoria can also offer information on investment funding for co-production or joint venture projects.
Film Victoria assists with:
- location scouting
- script breakdowns and surveys
- introductions to skilled crew, post-production and visual effects houses
- information about travelling and working in Victoria
- information on national and state-based production incentives
